November 2025

Maersk Training has been awarded the Innovation and Adoption of Technology Award at the Seatrade Maritime Crew Connect Global Awards 2025. This recognition highlights the work our teams are doing to shape the future of training through immersive, data driven, and learner focused solutions.
Our theme, “shaping the future of training – beyond the conventional training”, reflects the direction we are moving in. Our teams across simulation, immersive technologies, digital learning, and people development have pushed boundaries to rethink how maritime and offshore professionals build competence.
From VR and AR modules to advanced simulators and integrated learning pathways, our approach aims to help seafarers and offshore personnel train with confidence, realism, and safety at the centre.

Per Larsen, Head of Learning & Product Development, commented: “This award recognises the passion and work of so many colleagues, and the strong learning culture and dedication to impact they demonstrate every day. Technology is not the goal in itself, but a way to unlock safer operations, stronger decision making, and confident crews. We are grateful to the Crew Connect Global community and distinguished panel of judges for this recognition.”
Praveen Parthasarathy, Senior Account Manager AMEA, added: “Our customers look for training that feels relevant, practical, and future ready. This recognition shows how far we have come in delivering solutions that match those expectations while staying close to the needs of the people we serve. Many thanks to our VR team and instructors for their contributions to this development.”
We would also like to recognise the broader industry for driving innovation forward. The finalists in this category represent world class solutions that are transforming training across maritime and energy sectors.

This milestone reinforces our commitment to delivering training that goes beyond conventional approaches and supports an industry moving towards smarter, safer, and more sustainable operations.
Receiving the award on behalf of Maersk Training were Praveen Parthasarathy and Dr. Joanna-Eugenia Bakouni, Learning & Development Manager for Maritime.
